Default Squeak!

Ok I need some help here.

I have this squeak that comes from the front end (mainly drivers side) and I cant tell if it is the Ball Joints or the accual Suspension.

I went down there with a grease gun and all the zerks were clogged.. or rusted up.. at some grease points there wasnt even a zerk.

I went down there with the grease gun.. found one zerk i could grease up and turned out the grease housing was ruptured.. and then the grease gun unscrewed and a big grease blob came out.. all that good stuff. If you look on the video you can see it all over my driveway and rim lol.

The squeak (to me) sounds more like the ball joints because it sounds a little more dry that something the suspension i would make.

So ya there it is.. Im out of grease tubes at the moment, if i went and bought new zerks for all the points and greased them up, do you think that would stop the squeak?

Default RE: Squeak!

If you got silicon spray then hit all the pivot points in the suspension. Could be control arm bushings, shock bushings or swaybar bushings... Does the truck have coil springs then you could just have some dirt/rust build up on the spring perches. So spray everything with silicon and see if that helps. It is possible that you do need grease in the ball joints but if they have been "dry" for a while and squeaking they might be needing replaced????

Put a jack under the control arms to lift the tire off the ground and see if you can see movement at the ball joint, if one or both are moving then you would be better off replacing the lower ball joints....
