I'm getting a P0700 code from my blazer.....since my tranny is completely rebuilt i'm going to guess it's ok and the fact it shifts fine and pulls great.....where is the tranny controller I have a friend with a 97 blazer like my that I could try his controller to see if maybe mine is just junk but I need to find out where it is located first.....many thnaks guys

 

I believe the PCM controls the tranny. Try disconnecting the battery for a bit.

 

i tried it and i tried reseting the codes and it comes right back with-in 10 miles......i had also heard that a noisy rad fan would trip that code too does anyone know about that??

 

Have you tried pulling all electrical connections at the transmission apart, cleaning them, and plugging them back in? In my time with a mopar in the garage, I had to do this a few times on my Ram. Same code and all it took was pulling the connectors and reseating them and all was well for another year or so. The second time I had to do it, I cleaned them good with electrical contact cleaner on both halves of each plug and then put dielectric grease in each plug. Still going and the code hasn't come back yet for the next owner so...

Anyway, I don't know if that is the problem, but it's something to try out. And yes, the transmission is controlled by the PCM (powertrain control module) so you'd have to swap out the PCM.
