Unsure about this buy...

I recently bought a hypertech programmer III off ebay (part #30019), that both hypertech and the seller say will work with my blazer. This is not the issue. The issue is the fact that the seller says he used it once in his denali... which makes me wonder if the chip will recognize my VIN... I assumed the programmer would've been wiped to stock settings so it could take any other vehicle... otherwise (though I'm not sure on this), i don't think ANY other vehicle can use it except the original car... obviously to sell something that wouldn't work in anyone else's vehicle would be a blatant scam in my mind but I'm not sure how these things work...
Anyways if someone could ease my mind on this it would be greatly appreciated...

Did you contact the seller to see if it would work?

I mean... I assumed it would because you can't just flat out sell something that you know for a fact wouldn't work with any other vehicles other than your own...
I didn't know they needed to be reset to work with other vehicles but I guess I'll find out Friday if it does... Then I'm asking for my money back if it doesn't work cause that's BS... You can't just say something is "used" and choose not to mention that fact that used means it won't ever work on another car unless it's reset...
I don't want to e-mail the guy about it until I know for sure it doesn't work... Then I'll send him one saying that I just "discovered" that it wouldn't work with my car because his VIN number was programmed in and he didn't reset his car before he sold it to me...

I bought one off ebay and gotten good results. Actually I boughten 3 the first one did not work but the guy refunded my money. The second 2 worked awesome. The only thing is it has to reset to stock. Does the guy have good feedback? Thats something you look at and contact the seller to see what type of seller he is. The most important thing is PAYPAL. Alway pay with paypal never without. Paypal has a responsibility to you when you purchase that the item is as described or they get your money back. Goodluck

The seller does have good feedback, and I paid via paypal.
In my opinion, you really couldn't sell something like that without some sort of disclaimer saying it would need to be sent back to hypertech to get set back to stock (I contacted hypertech and they said the fee for that would be $250... cheaper just to buy a new one...)
