Default Wheel weight scraping?

I have a 92 Z code 4x4, I was looking under the front end this morning and I noticed my wheel weights on the rim lip were shiny silver and looked to have been scraping on something. I couldnt find the same on anything lock to lock on both wheels, what can it be?

Stock ride height, Stock 4x4 5 stars with 235/75/15 tires.

Jack up the front end on jack stands and rotate the tires to see where the weights are rubbing...

Then the weight is off the front end and its clear. I dont hear it only see it, and I dont feel it. I know I need to replace my ball joints but I dont think that has a thing to do with this.

I agree, jack it up as close to the wheel as possible. Just remember that when you're driving there is more flex, so look at all areas even close to contacting.

I have and I found nothing. Took it in yesterday after work and they even said my ball joints were fine. I am replacing them anyways because I have the parts sitting around now. I see nothing it has rubbed against on the control arms lock to lock. I have some pads from the alignement machine, the swivel things on front from a broken rack, lock to lock I find nothing with or without the front end loaded. I hear and feel nothing.

Im going to just rebuild the front end as soon as my tires arrive.

Im going to put it on a rack this afternoon and use the tranny jackstand to add the weight and see this up in the air rather then on my back.

Now just to find what bushings to use, Appreciate the help fellas.

Yep, its the balljoints, and centerlink and tie rod ends.

Thanks for the help. Glad I budgetted the rebuild into the bills.
