Default cat converter gasket

my question is do I need the cat converter gasket or could an RTV sealant do the job? Im replacing my cat with a direct fit and it doesnt come with the gaskets and Im not sure if I need 2 since my 98 blazer has the flanges?

if this has been discussed Im sorry I couldnt find it

thanks
Jeremy
