I have a 2001 Blazer 2 dr 2 wd with the 4.3L. I am looking for a cat and a muffler that would sound good, but not to much drown in the cab.

I am not sure which CAT to get but for the muffler i have a friend put a Dynomax super turbo on a silverado with a 4.3L and it sounded good.

I was wondering if anybody can give me your opinions what CAT and muffler to buy.

if you can provided me the site you bought it from.

I am located in San Antonio, TX if someone is local and knows of a good shop.

I am looking for a reasonably price CAT and muffler.

I have searched and read other posts.

Here is a link to the muffler I am looking at. Part # D2217748

I have a 2002 4dr that I too would like to put a different than stock muffler on it. I think the stock cat would be fine though....just wondering what the 4.3L would sound like with a Magnaflow or something. I know it is not going to sound like a V8.

flowmaster makes a special series for 6 cyl engines, i believe its the 60 series. if not then a 70 series for a v8 is still quiet but has a growl when you get on it. dynomax is cheap, id recommend staying away from them. as far as cats go, i dont have them, if i were to run them id get a hi flow type though. if you do run duals out the back, make sure to get an xpipe kit to add on. headers are a bonus too. all this changes the tone of the exhaust. even modifying your air intake will change the tone. if your ever curious, just go pop the air filter off and crank up and rev for a sec and youll hear the difference.

Have a Dynomax superturbo dual outlet on a 3.8 camaro, good sound not a v8 sound but not bad. I have also had a superturbo dual outlet on a Sierra 4.3 it sounded even better. On the Sierra it sounds better than my 4.6 ford with a flomaster Force 2 system. The dynomax on the camaro has been on for 8 or so years with no problems what so ever.
