cat question
I am thinking about cleaning the cat out on my 97. What do you guys think? Ive done it before on my previous vehicles and was happy with it. But would it hurt these motors? Would I gain more than I lose with it cleaned out? Whats yalls opinions?

There's not much that can be "cleaned" with a cat. If you hear it rattle then the catlyist is shot and it should be replaced. You can get a cheap high flow on ebay that's almost as good as running a straight pipe. Just my opinion.

if you have a oxygen sensor after the cat then youre gonna throw the check engine light. i took it out on my 93 cause when i put a different transfercase in it was in the way. ive taken them out and put them in on different vehicles and never really noticed a difference unless it was clogged

Of course its wrong to remove it and it will throw a 420 code...Unless you install a spark antifouler on the down stream sensor. I know an Astro van with 200,000 miles on my...err I mean his engine with a hollow cat
