Default Front pipes for 94

Hoping someone can give input from experience here...

I'm looking to put on some headers and a high flow cat onto my 94 Vortec, and I'd like to change the front y pipe as well, as I'm aware that the OEM pipe is somewhat restrictive.

I've done some looking around, but I can't find anything other than OE direct replacements (from Walker, etc.). Is this because they're all basically the same? If so, there's nothing wrong with the one on there now... I've read on here that the serrated bends are part of the issue, is that so? And, wouldn't the OE direct replacements have the same bends?

If anyone has some knowledge of this, it'd be appreciated.

Upon doing a search of front pipe, most of what I found just said that's where restriction is, not necessarily more in depth.

Thx in advance.

Most people who put headers on get a new exhaust system bent up in a larger size to complement the new flow of the headers. The only kit that I am aware of that incorporates all of this together is the Edelbrock #68563 kit.

Thx for the info... I've got headers on order already, so I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes and ears open. Coming to a real dead end on this one, other than just having a place custom bend one, not sure if it's worth that kinda scratch though...

Well, much to my surprise and disappointment, the headers are indeed for a big block, not our engines.

I'll not mention the source, as I'd hate to publicly call-out a company these days (I figure it's tough enough already!), but I will advise others to be responsible consumers and do their homework, ie cross-referencing part numbers, calling sources/manufacturers, etc. This company led me to believe that these would fit a 4.3, and well, you can imagine my feeling. Needless to say, I'll know better in the future.

Anyway, Kyle, thanks for the link/info, I'll be ordering the Edelbrock combo kit as soon as I get a refund for the other ones. I'm going to order a ton of other stuff, so it might be a few more weeks that I'll have to wait (before sufficient funds become available to me), but I'll be excited when the day arrives.
