You are correct, I had a 2003 Galant 4cyl. with a 3" Exhaust including the cat and it ran much much better, no loss of power what so ever.

I do have the 4.3 liter engine and I think the 3" will be fine, plus I want 3", I just like 3" Exhaust Systems and the fact that there LOUD.
