Question Put on a cold air intake on my jimmy

Two days ago I put on a cold air intake on my jimmy. It is a 4.3 vortec I put it on and it went smooth. I have a question, should it make my idle higher ( like 500 rpms) It only does it when it is cold. I use to run about 1000 rmps with stock air kit. When warm it idles fine, no problems at all. I notice the difference in power.

Thanks
Stephen

im not 100% sure what your asking. are you saying that its idling higher now, or before?. i just put one in my blazer and mine idles at the same exact point before and after, which is 500 rpms

when It is cold my jimmy with the cold air intake will run at 1500 rpms which is way higher than usual. When it is all warmed up it idles fine. Just wondering if any one has had it happen to them.

there is no reason that your truck should idle any higher.... I dont know if it would even matter but did you put the sensor unit back in the correct way when you put it all together?

I've noticed that my blazer will idle about 200rpms faster cold, in the morning then back to normal once at operating temperature. I just assumed it's the comp trying to get the engine to the operating temp faster.

Thanks for all the input. I put it all together right. I was just wondering if that was abnormal. I know when it starts cold it runs higher rpms.
