Default Put in my new cold air intake today

well i got the spectre cai today. it sure was a long day at work i couldnt wait to get home to put it in lol. it took me about an hour and a half. woulda been quicker if i didnt have to keep running back and forth to the garage for more tools lol. it went pretty smooth, except that the heat shield was a little wierd. the bottom wouldnt line up with the front of my car so i just didnt screw the bottom in it seemed pretty solid just with the top screw. i also had a problem with the spacers that go on the throttle body. one went to low so i had to put washers under it so it would rise a little bit. over all im %100 satisfied with it. i can notice a power increase, my blazer is more responsive and quicker believe it or not. i know alot of people say its not enough hp increase to notice but i sure did. sounds cooler, and soon ill be checking my mpg to see if im gettin more than the 15.5 i was getting stock. ill let you guys know the results

hey i got the spectre also and had issues with the heat sheild also, what i found that worked is instead of putting it on top of that rubber bushing they give you i put it under and i found it lined up a lot better, just a little tip might be different for you

Put a K&N CAI in last week, and I could definitely tell a big difference!

Mileage is tough because it all depends on everybodys driving habbits.

The best my wife can get on her 06 taurus is 29mpg, She uses cruise all the time because "it's a gas saver". I drove it out of state last year and got 30.8mpg without cruise. It's all in how you drive.

Problem with cai is that you hear the sound and maybe feel like it's more responsive so you tend to drive more aggressively. This in turn will kill your milage savings. That's the problem I experienced with the 2000 Neon I had anyway. Still, I can't wait till the intake I ordered gets here (tomorrow?).
