Question '01 Jimmy Lift

I don't post on here much, but I do visit a lot to read up on stuff. I have been thinking of lifting my Jimmy for a while now to run larger tires. After seeing rebeljimmy96's pics of his, I was sold.

I plan on doing the same thing he did which will include:
PA 2" Body Lift
Fabtech 1.5" Shackles
1.5" T-Bar Crank

According to his thread, he has no problems running a 31" tire with this set-up.

Now, I have 2 questions:
1) His pics are the only ones I could find with this set-up. Is anyone else running the same one? If so, chime in and tell me how you like it and if you have any rubbing issues. If you have pics, I would like to see them also.

2) If I move up to a 31" tire, how do I go about reprogramming the speedo?

As for speedo I use Hptuners to recalibrate the speedo along other parts of the tune.

i run a true measured 32" tire with Tb crank/shackles and 2" body lift. You should be able to clear 31s easily with what your wanting to do

Okay, that is good to know.

While browsing summitracing I noticed they had ad-a-leafs that will give about 1"-2" of lift. Would these be better than doing shackles? Pros/cons?

ive never personally used a AAL but using another spring to increase height is also giving you increase payload creating a stiffer ride. If you want stock feel for a ride then shackles would be your best bet. if you want a stiffer ride then AAL would work for you as well.

if you have sagging springs like i do then replacing your springs all together with either low mile or new ones will give you height as well

I am shooting to do this during the month of May when it warms up. If anyone who has done a body lift lives around the eastern panhandle of WV it would be nice to have some help on this..

I dont think you will need a programmer to adjust the speedo for 31s. I remember playing around with a Tech II and saw that 31s where an option to set the tire size to. Im assuming its because that is the stock size on a ZR2. So a dealer should be able to fix it for you.

I already planned on getting a PCM tune around this time, so I was going to have them reset it for 31" tires at that time. But this is good to know!

My speedometer is pretty on. I have the tbar crank and shackles minus the body lift with 31's if you want to check out my blazer. I'm thinking about doing a body lift sooner or later because I have a little bit of rubbing issues with the 31's

Yea I belleive like nvanzee said the tech II is capable of doing it because of the ZR2s but if your getting your pcm tuned anyway you should be set. And wolfpack also has a tbar crack and bodylift as well as some other people.

i have just a 2 inch lift (shackles and tbar) and i'm running 31s barely any rubbing so yeah 31s will fit easy with 2 inch body lift plus the shackles and tbar. post some pics when you get it lifted.
