Default 91 S-10 Blazer 2dr, Need some ideas for lifting.

I have a 90 S-10 Blazer 2dr, It's got 30" Sport King's on it, and the T-Bars are cranked as far as can go, I was wondering what would be the best, all around lift, for cheap. I'm only looking to gain maybe another 1-2.5" of clearance, so a body lift, and suspension lift aren't both needed.

only one.

I prefer to get a suspension, but which works best.

anyone know anything about shackle lifts as well.

need to know what works involved, as i have no access to a welder or power tools currently.

The thread titled Lift kit list goes over alot of options.

Best bang for your buck is the body lift. Thats what most people here do and most are happy with it. First gen you will have to make or have someone make bumper brackets cause no one makes replacement ones and your bumpers will have a gap between them and the body other wise.

Shackles work good but I have heard they can be hard to install. On a first gen you will probley tear up the shackle busing and maybe the bolt, so buy them in advance just incase. your shackle will be 2x as long as the lift it gives. So 2 inch long= 1 inch lift. Add a leaf is another option. You basicly add a new leaf to the pack on each side and get 1-2 inch lift from it. With it you have to remove the pin that holds the leafs together and it will probaly be stripped so be prepared to grind it off or torch it. (I had to cut mine off with a grinder).

Agian just search around and see what you find. I have been looking around this site for over a year and hardly ever have to ask questions cause most of them have been answered already. Good luck.

Just go with a 2 in BL. Its the cheapest option that saves the from drivetrain from extra wear.

if u can afford to { i mean we all have budgets so dont be offended } do the body lift and spring for the rubber to hide the gap between body & frame best of luck 2 ya

Yeah, I was just searching for the gap guards and PA finally came out with some. They used to only make one for the back bumper gap. But now they have ones for the wheel well.

I wanna say roughcountry dot com had them for $70 if I remember right. My buddy and I are gonna try to make our own cause were broke... I mean constructive, yeah constructive.... Also if you do the body lift pick up a couple cans of rubberized undercoating from wally world or a auto parts place. Trust me with a body lift you'll want the frame nice and black since you'll be seeing a good bit of it. lol

Made my gap guards from 1/4 inch thick by 2 foot wide belt. Just draw it out and trim with paper then bolt it to the fenders.

yes the frame has long since been painted, and the slug removed

Those look really good. My mechanic told me to use agriculture belt like that. I thought about making mine out of either that, pond liner, or step pads (the rubber pads that you put on steps and such for grip). Hopefully this weekend I'll get around to it. Gonna run up to the salvage yard tomarrow morning, heard they got a 1st gen in, rearended, with a black bullbar I'm gonna try and snag.

wow, I didn't notice that I was the first person to post in this thread almost a month after it was created... weird.
