97 Blazer 2wd Lift Advice
Hey guys, been a while since Ive posted on here. Just got home from graduating Wyotech and its time for some TLC for my blazer.
My plan is to replace: Coil springs, Upper/Lower CAs, tie rods, idler arm, center link and other misc., mostly because of a mishap which involved about 5 feet of air in the mountains and because the chassis has close to 200k on it.
So right now im running some Michelin 235/75/15s and have some pretty bad rub. So I plan on lifting, but theres a lot of questions I have..
Looking for a pretty mild lift, larger than 2" but nothing over 3"
Front:
Moog 5664's
Optional/Additional Beltech 1" Urethane Spacer
or
Some softer springs like maybe moog 5662 idk, and 3" Lift spindles
Rear:
4wd leafs
shackles
aal
SOA
Tell me your opinions/advice on all these options. Id like to keep a slight rake on it, .5"-1" lower in the rear. Also I might possibly be doing a huge system (6 15's in a 4th order behind the front seats) so ill keep that in mind when lifting the rear.

here is my knowledge with lifting s-series trucks. It takes alot of lift or fender trimming to fit big tires. 235/75r15's should fit stock, they do my 4x4 and my friends 2000 2wd blazer. Replacing springs and shocks should leave them not scrubbing. My personal opinion is to never waste time lifting a 2wd unless your making an insane dune jumper or something. The point of lifting is to fit big tires, the point of big tires is to have more ground clearence. to fit anything much over 31's you need over 4in of lift or alot of fender trimming. And then at the end of the day you still have a huge 2wd that gets stuck in mud puddles. Sell it and get a 4x4, a 2.5 in lift is easy to achiveve on one (torsion bar crank and shackles) and added bonus is you dont look like a poser
Going spring over in the rear should get you close to 5" of lift. If you don't want more than 3" I would soil shackles and an add a leaf. Get lift spindles for the front and don't run the risk of a super stiff ride. It's a little more expensive, but worth it.
