Yes a body lift from a gen 1 will work and as for the steering I just notched the firewall below the shaft so it has more room to play in. You will have to extend the oil filter lines and the fan shroud will have to be trimmed A LOT on the bottom. I dont know how to do the air box because I have a cold air intake, you will also have to extend brake lines or just relocate the steel line mounting brackets. I relocated the brackets on the brake lines. As for the shifter cable for your automatic transmission, you can relocate brackets to give it some slack or adjust the tensioning piece attached to the shifting cable. If you strip the head of a body bolt just cut the head off of it then when you lift the body off of the frame take a nut and screw it in the bolt that was stripped and tac it on with a welder and it makes a home made bolt head. The night before you are going to do the lift clean on and around the bolt heads with a wire brush then spray all of the body bolts with penetrating oil it helps A LOT.
