Front diff. Drop + Trailmaster Lift = PITA lol
I'm putting a trailmaster lift on my 1988 S-10 Blazer, I'm haveing trouble taking out the front diff. It's completly unbolted. I have tried pushing it around and it is caught between the frame in the front and a bracket in the back of the diff. where the yoke is where there was a bolt for the diff.. Do you have to cut the bracket off to get the diff. out? Cause on my parts frame(The frame originally had the lift) that bracket is cut.
The picture on the left is the bracket I'm talking about. I etched a line where i think it should be cut.
The picture on the right is my parts frame that had the lift...its been cut lol
Do you have to cut that bracket do get the diff. out cause its the only thing that is keeping it in there? Cause the trailmaster directions say the diff. comes out before you start cutting things.. Also, if i cut that that bracket the yoke should drop down then the diff. should drop down also.

Oy Vey... Your in territory I know nothing about. Not many people on here with a 1st gen have done a 5-6 inch suspension lift. Most are on 2nd gen. I'd personally write Trailmaster, here is thier info;
email us at: tech@p-a-g.net
or call us at 928-636-3175.
What is that bracket for exactly? If it would be easy to rebuild or replace, and if the one on the other frame was cut, I'd go for it. But I'd write trailmaster before hand. Maybe search around on S10extremist.com. They seem to have more info geared towards the 1st gens and such.
