If you are holding the sway bar to the piece it is still connected to, it will not be doing anything at all.

So if it stays connected to the rear axle, hold it in place with a strap to the rear axle.

If you disconnect it from the rear axle, leaving it hang on the body, strap it to the body.

 

So I have a question? Has anybody made / installed these homemade sway bar disconnects? how hard was it to drill through the bolt, any problems with the ride since installed, do you have part #'s for bushing kit and where did you purchase them? 4 Wheel Parts says that the Energy Suspension kit is not available on line for my 95 Blazer. Also, if you used the 3/8 bolt, how long is it? Thanks, I see that 1 of my frt links let go and figured why not upgrade.

Not hard. Helps to have a drill press to get through the bolt. It's either a 4" or 5" bolt...I'll measure. I can't remember the part # off the top of my head. Look out at Summitracing for them. That' what I do most of the time.

also sway bars are required for inspection. I would think in the rear it would be easier to quick disconnect from the body than the axle because 4 bolts hold it to the axle and only 2 on the end links
