Default good lift

i know im horrible about looking through previous posts, but i cant seem to find an answer to my specifics. i have a stock 01 2dr 4wd and was wondering what kind of options i have for an inexpensive, not to crazy lift that wouldnt be TOO hard to accomplish. i just really want to run normal size all terrians for average hunting, fishing trips where i can go most places and not get stuck. thanks for any info or pics

Well, unless you go for a full on suspension lift, your only options for added ground clearance are a mild t-bar crank and rear lift shackles. The only true suspension lift that is made is a 6" lift and that is $$$.

To take full advantage of a t-bar crank, you really should step up to atleast 30" tires. I was able to go a ton of places with my 28" tires on my old Bravada at stock height. Heck, I've already been creek crossing with my Rainier a few weekends ago and that is stock right now as well. But it also has larger tires and more ground clearance than my old Bravada.

I would say either do a 2" bodylift and get 31" tires, would give you an inch of extra frame clearance with just the tires and 3" of body height. or you could do a combination of 1" tbar crank 1.5" shackles and a 2" bodylift and then get 32" tires which would give you and inch and a half of frame height from the tires and 1-1.5" of fram lift from the tbar and shackle lift and 2" from the bodylift for a total of 2.5-3" of frame lift and 4.5-5" of body height. Just some things to think of. Of course with cranking you torision bars you increase the risk of frontend suspenison component wear (ie. ball joints, CV joints, and bushings)
