Default Lift/Drive-train question

I took my 2 Door 4x4 LS Blazer to a transmission shop and was told by the owner, whom happens to be a good friend of mine, to be careful how much I jack it up because it would be potentially dangerous to the drive train.
But I have my heart set on at least getting it up another 2-4" so i could fit some 33"s on it.
Any suggestions on ways to lift it without endangering the drive train or anything else.

Its is currently sitting on 30" BFG All-terrains
This is it as of right now:

I would do a 2in body lift along with a shackle in the back and crank the tbars up 1.5in in the front. You might have some rubbing issues still depending on whats width tire you run.

If you have your heart set on 33's and are concerned about the drivetrain then go ahead and splurge and get a Superlift 6" suspension lift. This would include front differential drop brackets that would reduce stress on the front end as it would keep everything at basically stock driveline angles. I will warn you that it is hard on your driveshaft as it puts it at a very steep angle. However, the Superlift 6" suspension lift would, all-in-all be easier on your trucks front end than any 2" lift.

To answer your question, there is no way to jack it up and be easy on the drivetrain. The 6" lift kit will be the easiest on it though.

Looks like a regular Blazer with some fender flares to me. If that's the case you will be trimming quite a bit of fender to clear 33's unless you plan on around 6" of lift. You could probably get away with a 3" body lift from a 1st gen, 1.5" T-bar, 2" lift shackle and some minor trimming but it's going to be hard on front end parts. And if you plan on anything other then stock backspacing for wheels you will be trimming a LOT

31"s on an S-10 will get you pretty much anywhere 33"s will...

Yeah that's a rough one. If you have to have 33's best advice I can offer is get narrower ones like 33x10.50 or something. Or maybe even a 32. I mean the only diffrence between 33's and 32's is a half inch axle clearence and bragging rights IMHO.
Then agian the roughly 32's I put on mine look huge compared to the dinky 215-75-15 it had .

These trucks don't take to lifting all that well, or cost efficently for that matter! If I was in ur shoes, with a ls and not a zr2. I think I'd do what bandidolenny said for about 4/4.5 inch lift. And then do like 32x11.50 or 33x10.50 and maybe some small wheel spacers so you don't rub frame too often. (or do like most of us and avoid sharp turns and park in the back of the lot. lol)XD
