Default Lifting it up high for a low price

I have been doing some searching on here for a thread that can answer my question but i am having a hard time really finding any perfect answers.

Most of the budget lift threads are for 2inch lifts from what iv seen.

I any trying to figure out how to get as lifted as possible for the cheapest price.
Is it possible to get around a 6inch lift + on a budget, or am i out of luck?

I will be doing all the work my self.

So, any ideas?

Thanks!!

Unfortunately, you're pretty much out of luck. The only way the 5" and 6" lifts are achieved is by moving the entire axle down rather than just the outer wheel hub that the 2" budget lifts do.

Here is a picture of a 6" Trailmaster so you can get an idea of what's involved.

The picture is from this thread where the guy got that lift for $100

oh man what a lucky find on that lift.

Thanks for the thread link.

I wonder what the biggest i can expect to get out
of a smaller budget would be.

look into the hockey puck 3" body lift.

if you have a sawzall you can cut out as much as you like and wedge bigger meats under her.

if you are doing all of the work, and know how to weld you can probably score a dana 30 on the cheap and SAS the front.

if you get creative you can probably adapt some leaf-over perches you find in a JY on another vehicle...

depending on how hard you look, you can probably get a thrashed full sized blazer and bolt your chassis to it. your power train on it's axles.

that would be a dream since you could run all kinds of crap on it if you bump the engine up from the 4.3 also

more here
that gives me a giant blazer nerdgasim every time i see it

8" lift with a SFA can be had for as little as $1200 as long as you have the proper tools, and know what your doing.

Yeah 3" body lift and maxed out tbars is about the biggest you'll get for cheap. The 3" kits are designed for the first gen trucks but there are plenty of people with them on second gens. I actually saw a guy on ZR2USA.com running 35" tires on only tbar crank and 3" body lift.

And yeah, you can cut quite a bit out of the front fender to give more room. Rear is harder to do because the door is so close to the edge but you can lift the rear a lot higher and a lot easier than the front

ahh you guys rock, thanks for the replies.

Look forward to all of your ideas.

thanks!

The hockey puck lift seems like something i could pull over pretty easy, i might do this next weekend just for the hell of it.

i can get 36 pucks easy as pie.

Do you think just using normal lifting kit would be better?

wondering about the durability of the pucks.

and also wondering if ill have to switch any lines.

gas, ect.

Thanks for a fun idea!

if you are going to do the puck thing (i assume you read it) you know you will need all the same stuff the 2"-3" body lift guys do:
f/r bumper brackets (for looks)
possible extended fuel filler hose
might need to relocate/reroute a wire or line or two...

just look at the lift kit instuctions...

also you'll need longer hardware to bolt it all back together.
