im butting in on the tail end of this forum but im new to lifting trucks, i have helped people do it before but never a blazer with the axel over setup. i have a 93 s10 blazer tahoe LT edition.
with the shackles, do i have to get 2 shackles for each spring (one on either side) or just the one shackle for the rear of each spring??
will i need new lift shocks or is it just a recomendation??

heya Justin... the leaf over axle over swap is nice, they gained a few inches there & yes, I'm jealous lol
but you'll only need 1 shackle per leaf for a 2" (+- weak springs )lift (2" longer center to center for the bolt holes) installed at the rear of the leaf
at least thats how it goes with a blazer

new shocks? I'm not sure because of the previous lift

<edit> gotta love them 'hoes', to me they're a new(er) K5, sans the removable hard top etc, but still a 'newer' full sized blazer
in my view, I want one
"93 blazer, pretty much a beater lol" my beater does OK lol

I have them on my blazer, and my wifes. I have had no issues whatsoever....and I push them pretty hard:

More of them in action:

I am very satisfied.

Go get your truck on VERY FLAT ground. Then, with a tape measure, measure the distance from the bottom of your fender to the TOP of your rim....not the ground. The front should be about 1/2" lower than the rear for a level stance. (some say 1") if it is lower than that...you need to crank the T-bars.

How long are the 2" lift shackels compared to the stock shackels? The stock shackel is 4" center to center of the bolts. Is a 2" lift shackel 6" center to center?

Hello all, I have a nOOb question for you:

I have a 98 4dr Blazer LT and plan on doing some work this spring (new suspension, ball joints, tie rods, ...) but want to ask about the suspension. Right now my suspension is OE and very soft and squishy (12 years old). If I put on new shocks and struts, should I expect them to raise the body some? I want a more stable ride and would also appreciate raising the body 1-2".

Also, any suggestions for new shocks/struts? I drive 95% on the road.

Thanks in advance!

You should have shock absorbers on all 4 tires. New shocks will not raise your truck any, but it will obviously improve your ride quality. If you have a 4x4 and want a 1-2" lift, it is as cheap as buying lift shackles for the rear ($45) and installing them. Cranking the torsion bars will not cost anything besides an alignment, but if you are replacing the tie rod ends, you will need one anyway. I personally have never bought shock absorbers for on-road use, so I have no info on those.
