Default Questions about lifting

I wanna do the whole Tbar shackle thing. Just wondering a few things

1. How hard is this to do. I'm 17 and I've worked somewhat on cars before.

2. Will just going 1.5'' on the Tbar be enough to where it will look good but won't go through parts. My dad won't be happy if I do this and then things start going wrong with my truck.

3. Also is the Tbar thing just for the front?

Thanks for the help

All of this has been discussed A LOT on the forum and could have been found be searching or reading through the tbar tutorial....but here we go.

1. No, it is pretty easy to do. You just need to pop the bolts for the shackles out (which is probably the hardest part since they are 9 time out of 10 seized) then throw the new shackles on. The tbar crank is just a turn of a bolt.
2. There are tons of members that have done 1.5 cranks with no issues. It`s a safe height to crank them to. I`m not sure I would recommend anything over that, although people have done more.
3. Yes, tbars are for the front, shackles for the rear.

Just body lift the truck if you are concerned about wearing out front end parts.

Dave has a good idea. It's more expensive, and much more involved but you'd be better off as far as wear and tear goes.
