I have true 31x10.50 and i had only 2" of lift, they rubbed the upper fender and the frame rails. But then I added a another 2" of body lift, no rub on the fender even goin thru whops at 40 mph. still rubs on frame rail, but a small spacer or just new rims with a 4.5 backspacing would get rid of that...speaking that its a 4x4.
And I offroad the crap out of my truck, slamming up hills, over rocks, not logs yet, thru rivers, thru the dunes, in ruts i could stand in....so if you don't want any rub, In my opinion, and your gonna offroad seriously, u need 4 to 5 inches of lift, and new rims with a smaller backspacing so ur tires stick out, or spacers. Hope this helps.

and definently get 31s, so worth it. May I recommend Kumho Road Venture MT KL71 ...sweet tires, buddy has them on his jeep, and they just tear up the dirt and the road, haha. Gonna get them after my duratracs are gone.

so, you'd rather shove the wheel farther out of the wheel well, 'causing more damage?

if you know for a fact that the suspension doesn't compress enough (and i mean 110% sure) then having less back spacing would be fine. but when you said you origionally were rubbing with 2" of lift, that wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.

unless you like crumpled fenders. or you like changing them often.

and you're right, those Kumho's are amazing.

[quote=Dbam31;354301]eww, paint those shackles black please! but lol, couldn't get those old shackles off so you just broke em out. haha, redneck egineering at its best.

Well the bolts were frozen in the bushings so we had to heat up the rubber bushings and pull the center of the busshing out. Than we just melted the rest of the rubber out and put the new bushings in.

thats a bummer with the bushings, when i was changing my shackles I was afraid that I would have that problem, luckily I didn't.

But I forgot to mention, when you make the tires wider you need wider fender flares, or some fiberglassing my pre-runner ambitions coming out. haha.

but ya, the wider tires will destroy the fenders and tires unless you do something about the fenders.

Thanks for posting the pics. The tires are PA 100's made by Prime Well. They look awesome. They're pretty close to the fender but I think a little trimming will do the trick. Not a lot of road noise, not the traditional howling of MT's. 2" shackles, and about 1.5" tbar crank. Gotta lower the passenger side down a little bit.

I thought the same thing but in person the tires are agressive. Probably half inch of tred.

Hmm, blazers are wierd i guess. I have a '95 2 door 4x4 and all i did was crank the bars up all the way and threw some 31x10.50's under it with 2.5" offset rims. Stock shackles in the rear, i didnt have to do any trimming or pounding, and mine only rub under a lot of stretch

I have a 2000 zr2 blazer running 33 x 12.5 x 15. I put shackles on, tbar crank a little, and cut on the back sideb of the front fender. They don't rub at all unless I'm turning and hit a bump.
