When the engine is running, voltage from the PCM will vary. With the key on and the engine off, it should show battery voltage, your tests prooved that it does.

Well I will get the alternator swapped and see what we have and go from there.

I was able to get the new alternator replaced with another unit this morning and as far as I can tell so far the problem is solved....1st replacement alternator was bad even though it would test "good" at the store. Go figure.

Those machines at the auto parts stores are pretty much for looks only. They look impressive, but that's as far as it goes. Let us know how the remote voltage sense mod goes. Thanks for posting back.
