Default 1999 Chevy blazer turn signal problems

Hi I just bought a 99 Chevy blazer and the turn signals arent working properly when I flip em up they turn off when there in the middle position my right signals come on and when I put it down my 4 ways come on. That's what it does most of the time sometimes they stick on or nothing will happen. Also the signals only come on when I press on the breaks. I've never done anything turn signal related so any help would be much appreciated.

hey bud. two things I've seen on here so far in trying to investigate my new2me 99 Bravada..
the hazard switch on top of your steering column can break and mess everything up, but with a little force and a good pair of needle-nose pliers, the hazard switch itself can come straight out the top and then be replaced. if it's starting to go bad but not completely broke just play with the switch itself secondly to see if you can get it to sit in a workable position ie up vs down. that switch has a 2 position seat. it should toggle taller and then toggle shorter. toggle shorter should be off. Secondly, the flasher relay is behind the glove box. this is the mechanism that actually makes your lights Flash appropriately. tweak your catch pins in the glove box to let it fold all the way down. that relay is top right almost against the kick panel. it is a plastic square with four pin blades. if all goes well it is supposed to pull straight out towards you. LED compatible relays are now almost less expensive then OEM at most part stores. A third much less desirable option is the whole multifunction switch which runs turn signals brights and apparently wipers on some models.
