2000 blazer ignition switch problem

Default 2000 blazer ignition switch problem

while changing the switch i removed the lock cylinder. now when i try to reinsert the cylinder it does not line up. it seems like inside its in the start position but the cylinder only goes in straight up and down.its the first time i have removed one of these im not shure what happened.any help please.

Sounds like the ignition switch isn't lined up with the position of the lock cylinder.

yes i can see its not lined up. how do i line them up?

the cylinder was locked at start and i could not turn it back. when i reconnected the battery i was able to turn it and insert the clylinder. something so simple yet i just didnt think of that.
