96 Blazer, Squeaking Glovebox Lights shut off
Title says it all.
A squeaking comes from the glovebox compartment, and sometimes it will either dim the lights severely, or shut them completely off. When I shut off the lights, or when the lights shut off on their own, the squeaking stops.
This is quite terrible to happen at night.
There are four relays within my glovebox, during research I found that most people only have three.
My car is a 96 Chevy Blazer, 4x4.
Additionally it has an issue where something in the car drains the battery while powered off. I have remedied this by using a battery disruptor switch. Very annoying, but atleast it keeps the battery alive.
Would appreciate any help on this.
What I need to know:
What are all four of these relays in the glovebox?
Why do they squeak?
How do I stop this and my lights from shutting off happening?
What I've learned in research:
Some people have fixed this by simply replacing the light switch.
Some people have fixed this by replacing the relays
Some people still have the problem after doing both of these.

Try turning off the blower motor, hvac system off, and see if the squeaking stops. Get a volt ohm meter and do a parasitic drain test. You tube has some good videos on that procedure. Hopefully whatever is draining your battery is also causing your lights to shut off.
