My 1996 S10 Blazer has a charging issue. Today i have replaced the battery and the alternator. The battery gauge fluctuates when i have the a/c, turn signals etc and am sitting at a stop. I think i have all the grounds checked, the new alternator and battery are good. i am out of ideas any help would be appreciated. also a friend (gm tech) told me that the a fuel leak inside the manifold could be causing my problem, and i know the fuel injector pressure regulator is leaking inside the manifold and the idle is not responding when the loads are applied to the charging system he thinks this is causing the drop in voltage.... im not convinced but again any help is appreciated.

 

if the regulator is leaking than your flooding the engine and you could have the problems that you are listing. you need to have a fuel pressure test and a fuel leak down test proformed and if an issue is found than it needs to be corrected before moving on to the next diagnoses. if the gm tech told you thats the problem than i would take his word for it. i was a gm tech as well and these s10's were always in the shop getting manifold gaskets, spider injectors, dizzy's and front diffs replaced all the time. so i agree with him and would get the fuel system checked out.
