Default 97 Chevy Blazer 4x4 4.3 no crank PLEASE HELP

I pulled a 4.3 from a 97 2wd blazer and dropped it in a 97 4x4 blazer. Both running engines when I got them. Tried both VCMs, battery good. I can't scan. What could it be? I need a running car desperately. My financial situation is in negative.

  1. What is the battery resting voltage (everything off, meter leads to battery posts)?
  2. Same question when you turn the ignition key to start
  3. Pull the crank fuse and measure the voltage at each fuse socket, meter black lead to battery ground.

Your battery voltage is way too low. Step one is getting a charger on the battery, turn on the headlights for 15 sec to knock off the surface charge and retest. A fully charged battery is 12.6v. Yours is too low for the truck to operate:

Once we get that done we can continue getting you back on the road.
