Arrow B1036 - Discriminating Sensor Open/High

I have an another thread about an airbag light issue i'm having relating to a swapped airbag. But, long before I ever had that issues, this truck has had this other airbag issue since I bought the thing back in 2012.

The problem is that the airbag light would come on and off randomly. Sometimes fully randomly, but often when you'd hit a bump. The kid I bought it off of was sure the problem was a loose connection. But never listen to a highschool kid.

So I had a mechanic pull the codes, and the title of this post is what I got. So this is the crash impact sensor in the bumper, apparently one of the two are bad. I have many questions about this, hoping you guys can help clear it all up for me...
1) First off, these are the two part numbers I have for these sensors: 16240655 and 16240665. One is discontinued and the other is still available. Does this mean that the parts are interchangeable? Like just a different mounting bracket on the truck? So you could use either one in place of either one?
2) How do you get at these things. I haven't had any luck finding a how to video.
3) Is there a place I can get these? I'm trying to be as cheap as possible here since I'm just fixing up the truck to sell. Based on those part numbers above, the cheapest sensor I've sound is about $120. And the most expensive is about $420.
4) Are there other part numbers that will work? Sensors from other non-S10 trucks? Maybe a newer part that is cheaper to get? What about other S10s? Which years use the same part? All 2nd Gens? All 98+'s?
5) Is there any way to verify the diagnosis before I go purchase one of these parts and install it?
6) If they are easy to get at, I might grab one out of a truck at the junk yard. Is that an ill-advised plan for any reason? Or do these all get ripped off right away?
And I'm sure even more questions to come
I already bought my replacement truck, a Trailblazer with a 5.3 V8. So as much as I totally love my Blazer, I really need to fix it up and send it on it's way.

Today I took my skid plate off, and disconnected both sensors. Sadly, the rubber grommets worked perfectly, and the inside of both connectors looked perfect. Plus, the two sensors are totally different. One has 2 pins the other 4. So one of these sensors is truly not available. Anyway I plugged and unplugged them both many times to try to get a good connection. But still my airbag light was intermittent. But it still tends to go on and off on bumps, which makes me wonder if it's still not a connection issue somewhere.

So I was taking a closer look today, I wiggled the cable on the sensor and the light did go out. I know connector is good, but I wonder if the wires going into the harness side of the connector might be loose somehow? Anyone know more about how these connectors are assembled and how I might clean it up?

Muchas gracias
