okay i need some help. my overhead console is one of the smaller ones with the sunroof. im trying to figure out what is wrong with my temp and compass. the compass never calibrates (region is set correctly) and the temp works for maybe 10 second before it goes to hash marks. any ideas on what is wrong?

 

It could be the temp sensor instead of the readout.

 

Where would it be, in the engine bay or under the headliner?

 

According to my manual, "The outside air temperature sensor is located behind the grille on the right side of the vehicle next to the radiator air intake baffle." It looks to be mounted between the radiator and the grille most of the way up on the vertical baffle facing inward. It is some sort of small boxy thing. If you can't find it, you might try to find a picture of one at RockAuto.com for reference.
