Default 98 Blazer LS (Quad Beam mod ?)

I have a 98 Blazer LS, with DRL, the high beams are the (DRL) I would like to put a toggle switch so If the switch is on (my headlights in highbeam) would be quad beam, if the switch is off works normal, as it does now, and I was also considering disabling my DRL as it runs high beams as DRL anyway, and will burn out my exspensive bulbs, I have 2 extra relays so and extra wire, I have just seen so many different ways to do it on here, I I was looking to do it with relay(s)? any input would greatly appreciated thank you..

I did the quad beam mod on both my 2001 Blazer, and 2002 GMC Sierra the exact same way, splice a ground wire into the yellow low beam wire. Then when you turn on the high beams, the low beams stay on as well since they are grounded. I've had it this way for about a year on my GMC Sierra, and on my Blazer since I purchased it, and havn't had any problems.

Don't have a picture of the Blazer, but here's my Sierra.

You can do the same with a switch, splice a ground wire into the yellow low beam wire, but run it to your toggle switch, and then to a good ground.

Basic diagram I made.

Low-Beam wire --- > |In| Toggle Switch |Out| --- > Chassis Ground

This way, when the switch is ON, the quad-beam mod is enabled, and when it's OFF, they operate normally because the ground will not be made.

Default Update..

So I spliced into the Yellow wire on the drivers side, and I grounded it to the frame of the truck, went to try it, worked well, but the DRL was giving me a problem so as of now I went and bought myself the 680 Ohm 1/2 watt resister at radio shack did that mod to the sensor in the speaker, and got rid of the DRL, Now when I ground the yellow wire to the body it does work, but the low beams slowly get really dim, Not sure what I am doing wrong here, so for now I disconnected the yellow wire, and headlights are working as normal and no DRL, so I can do parking, or headlights and no DRL. thank you
