Ok guys. Posted about the wifes 96 4wd issue was minor and now functional .Thanx all.
NOW the new issue....
Wife Just called...no cranky !
All lights, bells n wistles operating just no crank over.
Told her put in neutral and try again......nothing.
So got coffee. ( its 0600 ) sat down a few before my rescue attempt, cell rings again.....wife,
said she cranked over n started.. ......hmmmmm.
Ideas fellas ??? Ign switch ? Exciter to the solenoid ?
Wucha think ???

Was the truck hot when she tried to start it the first time? Sometimes when starters start to go bad they'll only fail to work while hot.

Chevyriders pretty much nailed it lol! Sounds to me a starter issue. Had lights and sound so the battery seems good...

Well, im wondering if power not getting to starter solanoid ie; exciter wire at that point or not. I cant seem to duplicate the occurance......

You could always throw a new relay at it just to see if that solves the problem.. I hate to suggest throwing parts at an issue with no diagnosis, but the relays are so cheap it's worth a shot.

Not sure which one it is. Lol .3 next to each other right under hood

I believe it is the center one. Look for one that has a yellow, purple, and red wire going to it. That will be your guy. The purple wire goes to your solenoid. Red is power, yellow is signal wire from the ignition switch.. that should help you diagnose the issue if it's not the relay.
