Default battery may be dead but makes clicking noises

Hi there, I am new to this forum as I recently got a 2001 Blazer ZR2. It drove fine since Xmas day (tuesday) then I tried to start it and all it did was click rapidly and wouldnt start. I tried it again today and now there's a clicking sound which seems to be coming from the glove box area inside. Do I need to boost the battery to see if that's the problem or is it something more?

Now now dont guess. There is a way to diagnose the system.

Get a boost and then bring the truck to your local auto parts.
Ask them to test your battery and charging system. If they say the battery is dead then replace it. IF the charging system is bad then its the alternator.
