Battery Relocation?
Hello all!
I've got a 98 Blazer 4 door 4x4 and I'm in the process of pulling the 4.3 out and swapping in a 5.7L from a Suburban. Now in my Celica I was able to relocate the battery to the truck to make space for the intercooler piping so I'm hoping I can do something similar with the Blazer. I see a number of S10s that fit them under the body by frame rails or in the bed and I saw one Blazer that relocated it to where the spare tire used to be underneath, but that doesn't seem very safe for wheeling if its underneath the body. Has anyone done a relocation in their truck have pics?
Thanks!

I've seen a few that have moved the battery to the back of the blazer in the cargo area. I don't see why you couldn't fab up a mount to put it in the spot of the spare tire underneath. I plan to move mine there during my motor swap but I have a ton of space and clearance after the SAS. Biggest thing is just build something strong enough that it won't fall off!
PS. why is/are there no info or pics of this swap you speak of in your build thread?!?!?!

Hahaha no pictures yet because I just picked up the 5.7 last night and it was too dark for pics when we finally managed to get it out of the pickup (it was lift 4" with 33s so the hoist wouldnt reach high enough haha. But today I'll have time, next thing is to check it over and regasket while its out. So you plan on putting yours where the spare was? Maybe I'll have to look into that and look at marine boxes to protect it from rain and grime after I do a body lift.
Yeah I plan to move mine to the rear and build a steel box for it to protect it from whatever I decide to run over and kick up at it! I'll need the space where it is now for my intake with the 5.3 swap.
