Default Battery and terminal issue

I have a 2002 V6 2 door S10 Blazer. The problem that I am having is that the battery terminal wears a gap between the soft metal on the battery and the contact point for the terminal. There are 3 small prongs on the terminal and I can see where the terminal is arcing between it and the battery. I have filed it down but after a week or two I have the same problem. Has anyone else had this problem? I am considering converting to a standard post style battery connection but really don't want to cut off the factory terminals. Please any suggestions would be appreciated!

Does this give you any ideas? If you add 2 nuts then you can leave the nut against the side terminal tight & back off the 2nd nut to add accesories/spade connections.

Thanks for the help. I was afraid that my only real option was to take the factory terminals off. Guess I better get to cutting. It is almost the weekend.
