Yeh the gauge is more for reference, not accurate at all

You should also start with cleaning up all of your ground points. What size battery is in your truck right now? I had a small pos the the PO installed and had issues with dim lights myself even after the big 3. I cleaned my grounds and put a decent battery in it and no more dim lights. I do have a larger alt now as well for my winch and such and I only get about .5v drop at idle while running the winch

thank you i stumbled upon that doing a search gonna see what i can do to get myself a cheap 1

iv cleaned them all motor, frame, front support. its mostly the dash lights and dome lights at a stop in gear with blinker on its worse, driving i cant notice think im gonna do the alt upgrade with the ad244 if i can find one cheap enough.

You didn't mention what size battery you have tho?

The alt for me was 60 used.... the best was 40 or so for a 7/8th inch longer belt. then the painless harness since I have a first gen, not plug and play like a second gen.

Was super simple to install too, took all of 20-30 minutes from removal to having it started and running.

iv read about 30 pages on this ad244 upgrade and cant find def answers. i have a 2nd gen 4 plug connector with 1 wire to it to the alt is that plug and play? my understanding is all i need is the alt and a longer belt?? Thanks
