Big 3 Upgrade: I've searched, but...
Yup, just get the ad244, a longer belt, install it and plug that baby in! Took as long as the everyone says, 30 minutes :P
I got one from Pick 'n Pull for like $40, and always have a back up belt in the compartment that houses my jack, so I just went to O'reillys and did a warranty exchange and got one 7/8" longer. Somewhere on the belt is the length, so you just go in there, and presuming the guys aren't idiots, they'll be able to figure it out, since I can't remember what it is right off the top of my head.

So yes, just the alt, and the longer belt, the ONLY other thing you would need, is a longer bolt for the lower alt bracket bolt.
Which you will need a grade 8 1/4 inch bolt and some washers, depending on how long of a bolt you get.
Then you are good to go.
On my first gen, I have 2 wires on the alt, since I do not have a dummy light, so the wiring kit I got came with I believe a 60-68 ohm resistor to put in its place to make the alt think I have one.
But like I said, for you, since you have the light, plug it in, and go. go to orielly for a belt... get a gates.... tell them you want one that is an inch longer, most likely they will tell you they only have one that is 7/8th inch longer, it should work absolutely perfect.

and I stress orielly, i have had horrible luck with napa, and know a lot of people who have... orielly has more "restrictions" for being hired, so the people work there know a bit more.
I just told them that i need a belt that is an inch longer than factory, they were able to look up factory belt length, and the closest they were able to find was 7/8th like you found, I think that is the best length, it worked for you on a second gen, worked best for me on first.

I go to oreillys 90% of the time. Partially because its closest, and Im good friends with the manager who has been their for years. But I'll admit, I've gone to a bunch of different oreillys, and have found a lot of the guys in there are complete *****. But definitely not as bad as NAPA or advanced auto, which is why I never go to them haha. If oreillys doesn't have it, I go to autozone, if they don't have it, I hit the junk yard. If all else fails, and I don't need it immediately, I'll wait the two days and get it from RockAuto
I just did this yesterday, I used both factory bolts. The mounting points were exactly the same as the stock alternator. So no need for a different bolt.
Maybe there's something different on a first gen that you needed it but it's not needed on a second gen.
And for belt sizes, my stock belt is a 95" belt (last three numbers are 950) so I bought a 96" belt (last three numbers are 960). Less room for error is you tell the parts store what numbers to look for.

Must be, becauze my 97 was a direct swap over. Two bolts out, same two bolts back in, and everything fit just right
And in regards to belt numbers, Jamaroon has got it down. Im pretty sure the belt i got was a 958 (95.87"=95⅞")

I did this upgrade awhile ago to help soften the blow of a sound system on my electrical system. I have the big 3 upgrade and an AD244 alternator as well. Everything seems to be going fine except a delay issue with voltage. My voltage drops for a few seconds then comes back up to normal. Happens when I either let off the gas pedal quickly or sometimes when I brake and let off. Still can't figure out the issue.
