Blazer hi/low beans - 2004
I tried to change the hi/low beams but I did not make sure to remember where the Sylvania 9005 bulb went and where the Sylvania 9006 bulb went that I had bought. I guessed where the bulbs went. I had taken the battery cables off. When I started to put the battery back it sparked and the lights went on with no key in the ignition. I got spooked and unhooked all 4 headlamp bulb. The battery was going back correctly - Positive post to positive cable (red). Where does the 9006 bulb go and where does the 9005 bulb go? Are they the right bulbs? Is the outside beam the hi or the low? Is the inside bulb the hi or the low? The car stars now but headlamp bulbs are not connected. Did the battery spark and lights come on because I put the bulbs in the wrong openings?. What happens when a hi beam bulb is put in a lo bean opening? Thanks!

Low beams are the outside bulbs. You can't mix 'em up, the sockets are different.
The battery cable sparked due to all of the memories and modules being energized at the same time. Once they are done, amperage draw drops down to almost nothing.
