Default Brake lights stay on

2000 GMC jimmy, brake lights stay on with the ignition. I have checked all the fuses and replaced the brake light switch to no avail-
Other unusual conditions are the car has power when the brake pedal is depressed even without the key in the ignition. Also the right turn signal is not working.

The brake light will normally work with or without the key

I suspect you have an issue with the indicator switch in the stearing column

To clarify, the brake lights are always on when its running, whether or not the pedal is depressed.
Even with the key out of it when you press the brake pedal, the dash lights, radio, fan, etc. are powered up.

You got a short somewhere, that is for sure, start tracing wires starting at the brake switch.

Well after checking every fuse, I did some wiggling and jiggling of the hazard switch and the brake lights went completely out, the chmsl returned to normal operation, and the turn signals will work erratically if you wiggle the hazard switch.
Also, it no longer energizes the car when you press the brake pedal.
I am kind of thinking of just changing the hazard switch first.
Any thoughts?

There was a recall for the hazard switch causing brake light issues. Never had issues with mine but had it changed at the dealer at no cost. 2000 blazer 4dr 4x4.
