Can you use these as headlights?
Those type of LED's "glow" they don't have enough power to project light properly or safely IMO. As for HID's are expencive - the LED's you're looking at are $6! You get what you pay for. If (big IF) they were that good they wouldn't be $6 & every auto maker & after market supplier would be selling them & selling them for 100's of dollars. Go HID lol.
That type of lighting would be good for very short distances, like fenderwell/rock crawling lights. Even if I put those in my projector housings I doubt they'd light up anything more than 25' ahead.
Just my thoughts on LED's ... which I love btw, I have a few high powered flashlights 200 - 1600 lumens & they light up a ton. Just a different technology & focus pattern.
All my interior lights are LED's as well as my reverse lights ALA Jonathan AKA Streblo TYVM btw, but I also have aux. Bully hitch mounted reverse lights on my hitch that are 35w halogens. Wired so when I throw it in reverse they light up.
