Default Compustar Remote Starter Issue.

So ive had a compustar remote starter in the blazer now for 3 or 4 years.

This morning it decided it wanted to act up.

When i went to leave this morning i hit the command start and went outside and, well no start. Went to turn the key and heard the tick tick tick of low voltage. So threw the battery charger on, and at 10a charge just that bit extra help from the charger the blazer started.

So i made it to work, leaving work tonight i hit the command start and got NOTHING from the blazer, no sounds, no lights, nothing. Went and turned the key and started no problem.

So the remote start is not working, with either fob.
BUT the door lock and unlock works.
BUT when i lock the doors the parking lights would normally flash, I was getting no flashing from the parking lights when i locked or unlocked the doors, although the lock and unlock function was working properly.

On an unrelated (or possible related) note. My parking brake light came on the other day and went away...few days later it came back on again, and when making a sharp right turn the light goes off, then comes back on again. So not sure if this may be a related short or not.

So im thinkin i have a short somewhere that is not allowing the starter to work, and was thinking draining the battery, BUT after sitting for 8 hours today the blazer started no problem, after only running for 20 minutes after starting it with assist from the charger.

Any thoughts of what it might be or where to start looking?

..DUH....that was a MAJOR brain fart........problem solved.
SOMEHOW it got itself in valet mode, so turned valet mode off and good to go.......apparently in valet mode the lights dont blink either.

Still have to figure out the parking light but thats probably the switch and ill just over ride it because i dont care about it....but still weird why the battery was low this morning!..HMM......

But ya, Starter problem fixed.

It's common for a remote start to lose it's programming or go into valet when a low or dead battery happens.

The battery issue:
So ive decided that the battery is shot.

2 days 2 weeks ago when temps were below -15 it wouldnt go in the morning.
all last week was above -10 and had no problems all week.
This was the first morning since that temps were below -15, and again a no start in the morning.

So back to can tire for my second free replacement!
