Would that work without the resistor? Wouldnt just unplugging it work?

Ill just explain exactly how it happened, I remembered by hitting the Dome Over ride 4 times, but then the next time i start my truck. the running lights come back on. It started doing this again as I was replacing my AV jacks for my radio and a high pitch noise was coming through the speakers and was tryin to figure out the fuze for the radio. It was so horrible I didnt think right away and I bet I pulled a certain fuze that mightve reset something? but Before I got my AVs replaced, I had to take off the bottom panel by pushing the E-Brake down so I could get this screw out.... Ever since they keep coming on. what can I do to get around that or did I do something and didnt realize it? Thanks
