Dome light and locks

Default Dome light and locks

After having some welding done to the driver door hinge the dome light will not turn off...after getting home the.front door power locks are stuck in locked position and will not shut????

Could there have been damage to the wiring harness that goes from the door to the body? Either physical damage or heat damage? There are likely electrical components inside the body behind where the hinge attaches to the body. I would think damage could occur there too. If you search threads on how to get a view of that area or threads that show the panels removed that would show what is there that may help.

Also, about the power door locks. Are you saying that even if you manually unlock the door from the inside or from the outside with the key, the electrical door lock mechanism instantly relocks the door?

If it just a matter of the door lock being in the locked position with the door open, the fix is to use the outside door handle to try to open the door and then use a large screwdriver to pry up the latch at the outside end of the door. The pulling up on the handle with the pulling out is what opens the latch.
