Question dome light stay on

my 96 blazer 4dr lt dome light does turn off. anyone ever have this problem if so what was it, i have checked high and low for what it could be, but i cant figure it out. i just take out the bulb so it doesnt kill my battery, but i would like to have a dome light. all i can think of is the things that are in the dash that push in when the door shuts are broken or just not working correct but i cant remember for the life of me what they are called i think they are door jamb switches but i just wanted to double check...what is confusing me is my bravada had the door jamb switches removed and i just tucked the wires up under the dash and my dome light turned on and off just fine

well back to the dome light not turning off, today after i got into my truck the light wont turn off again. I had the new door jamb switches in for about a week give or take and everything was working just as it should, but now the only thing i can do to make the light turn off again is to pull the bulb or remove the #2 fuse from the driver side fuse panel....anyone out there got any suggestion as of what could of gone wrong now, thanks ahead of time for any input

There has to still be a bad door switch and/or a short in the ground circuit that the door switches complete to turn the lights on.
