Default Driver door will not shut off accessories...

Hello, I just bought a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer, and It has a minor problem. Anytime I open the driver door to get out of the vehicle, it wont shut off the accessories. I have to open the back door, or risk draining my battery. I didnt think much about it since I figured it was just the push button contact on the door. Seeing as how the passenger side door works correctly, I decided to take the button off of it, and swap it with the driver side button. I pulled the button out of the passenger door and to my suprise it was not even connected. There was NO WIRE going to it at all. I pulled out the glove box, and looked at all the wiring and I didnt see the wire that was supposed to plug into it anywhere. Anyways, I used the passenger door button on the driver side door and still havent got it to work correctly. So my questions would be...

1: Could both buttons really be bad, and is there an easy way to test the wiring with the button off to see if the wiring is good?

2: Could it be that there is another trigger somewhere that tells the accessories to turn off besides the button to the front? It would appear that there is since the passenger door is working and there is no wire hooked up to the button on that door. I have looked all over the door and didnt notice anything else that looked like a possible trigger.

Anyways, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It sounds like your truck has the content theft deterrent system. With CTD, the switch for the front doors is in the part of the door latch. The switches in the sides of the dash can also be tied in, but they do not turn off the accessory power with CTD.

I would pull the door panel and check the switch in the latch.

Thanks for the quick response! I suspected there was another type of switch. I do have the anti theft system, so I guess thats what I was missing. Ill see if I can get to the switch and make sure its connected.

I have the same problem. What sensor am I looking for...? I pulled my door apart and found a bundle of wires headed to the actual latch but nothing for the door pull. I'm thinking I may be in over my head with the security system and stuff, any other pointers?

There is a key switch that should be plugged into the handle area somewhere near the door lock cylinder (where the key goes). I believe the handle switch is on the latch itself along with the lock actuator itself each with separate connectors.
