ECU reader issue
I'm daring to open a new thread.
I downloaded the Torque Pro app having heard great things about it, but have gone through the grinder trying to set it up.
I'm using a Samsung A11 phone and a VeePeak Mini OBD ll scanner. The scanner is paired with the Bluetooth and connected to the ECU in the phone settings, but the homepage of the app says it is not. nor will it save a Vehicle Profile.
The Torque website has 14 pages of FAQs, but very few answers, and there's many a YouTube video, but I am still stuck. I thought it might be the scanner had gone bad (I did drop it...), but Torque Lite works fine with it on the Blackberry.
Is there any member savvy about what might be happening? After ten days trying to figure this out it, I feeling rather wacky.

That's certainly odd. I've only ever used cheap eBay Elm 327 dongles and they have always worked great with the Android app on various phones, even my Android radio in my Blazer.
Is the Blackberry that it worked with running an actual Blackberry OS or is it Android based? Almost sounds like the Android Torque Pro doesn't like to communicate properly with your dongle. Could always try a cheap Chinesium one off eBay or Amazon?
I always turn off the "Auto Bluetooth" option in the OBD2 Adapter settings, not sure if that makes a difference, it's just something I've always done and it's always worked. Using an ELM 327 adapter, I leave the "Faster Communication" setting off, and the "Disable ELM 327 auto timing" checked on

Hi Blazen
Thanks for the reply. The Blackberry runs its own OS. Frankly, I find it very difficult to use for anything other than phoning, but the Torque Lite app runs fine!
You referred to a dongle. I plug the Veepeak directly into the vehicle ECU reader socket without a connector.
In the top left hand corner of Torque homepage, there are four icons which flash on opening, the oblong icon, which should be blue, shows red.
Any more thoughts would be very welcome.
Cheers.
