my sensor looks like the 'mushroom' but only has one prong

 

Let me go look at my TM...I believe I ran across something that stated some of the Blazers had two coolant temp sensors, one by the thermo housing and one on the side of the block. It was one of those "(if equipped)" type instructions.

Well, I found the spot in the TM. It refers to the ECT under the thermo housing but says "If Equipped". Mine isn't equipped. There's a plug in that location. The TM goes back and forth and will picture one or the other, but doesn't seem to refer to them both at the same time. I'm not real experienced on reading schematics, but from what I can see it only references one black wire and one yellow wire for the ECT. I'm at a loss, but hopefully one of the experts on here can weigh in...I'd like to know the deal myself. Click your heels together and say "I wish for Hook or Swart or Rich or any other expert that can HELP!!! Sorry Dude. (see pics)
