I swapped my stock alt with a dr44g alt from a 02 tahoe 2 months ago and i bought a 960k6 belt and as of last week the belt is to long and squeals when you start the truck. Has any one else had this problem? I also bought a new tensioner a month later after putting the alt on but i dont think that would cause the belt to be to long.

Was i supposed to swap the pullies with the stock alt?

I tried a 955k6 belt and it was to small and they dont have a belt between 955 and 960

you are not supposed to swap pullies... find a belt that is about an inch longer.
for the belt on my first gen, they did not have a belt that was exactly an inch, so I got one that was 7/8th inch longer, and it fits perfect.

I had the same problem with my ad244... The 96" belt stretched and started slipping. I swapped on a 95.5 belt. It was a PITA to get it on, but since has stretched a little and is perfect.
