Default Heater blower motor

So my blower motor died or so I thought, today I replaced it.
Before the install of the new motor I hooked up the baytery and turned on the motor to test the part, and it worked.
So I finished with the instal and now that its in nothing again?
Why do I have a loss of power? I baught a new resistor (manual speed controll)
And I plugged it in to the cable just to see, and it has power but still no fan. My power loss is going to be between the resistor and the motor, I am no electricition and I feer ill have to shell out big $ to pay one to solve this mess.
